Book Description
Darby is a cheerful duckling who loves playing with beanbags and singing tunes in the Dorian mode. One sunny day, she meets Lonnie, a lively lizard with a passion for music. To their delight, they discover they both love making melodies. Together, they become fast friends, tapping rhythm sticks and singing a joyful song in Lydian, their laughter dancing through the air.

Musical Play with Darby
The Darby books are designed to inspire musical play with young children. Don't worry if you don't have special equipment - creativity is part of the fun!
If you don't have beanbags or rhythm sticks, you can make your own.
Beanbags - fill a sock with uncooked rice and tie it tightly.
Rhythm Sticks - substitute with unsharpened pencils or wooden spoons.
